I am still recovering (emotionally) from our recent trip to NYC.

I have made several trips to NYC since the summer of 2001, but this one was very different. I am still processing the multiple and often disturbing images of people and places and sounds that linger in my head and my heart.

Because I don’t quite know what to do about these vivid impressions, and despite the fact that I have a long list of projects that need my urgent attention, I rearranged furniture.

I had no intentions of rearranging furniture when I woke up yesterday, but it was a great way to avoid thinking. Does anyone else do that?

I suppose that before and after photos of my furniture arrangement would make more sense than photos of a flower and a bunny, but the flower and the bunny are much more attractive than my furniture – and neither one of them remind me of NYC.
